Talk Sporty to Me is your monthly cheat sheet to the hottest, most talked about sports topics.
Thanks to a Seahawks bye (off week) I was able to take a break last weekend, go wine tasting and see a movie – The Social Network. You’ve probably heard about it, it’s a story about the founders of Facebook. But there’s a very obvious sports theme toward the beginning of the movie. During an early scene, the ability to be an athlete divides the “have’s” and the “have not’s.” It’s something most of understand from our school days. There were P.E. classes, recess and rec league teams that helped determine the athletes in the group. Everyone else was just a participant. The older we get, however, the easier it becomes to see sports as an “all-inclusive” subject. It’s one of the things I love about working in sports.
